Case Study : Toronto Cupcake
Website Redesign
01
Background
The Toronto Cupcake website is an online platform founded by Michelle Harrison in 2010 that offers an exquisite selection of gourmet cupcakes and chocolate confections in Canada. Their website was initially created on the idea of offering a simple space to order cupcakes and let the treats speak for themselves. But in current times the website is objectively outdated and the overall navigation system is off putting. These issues make it hard for potential customers to order and thus increase in customer loss.
03
Impact
The users found the website easy to navigate and order process became “smooth and free” according to multiple users. The overall outlook was inviting and seemed to attract the users. This suggested that the user retention improved.

User Research and Design
For the Project All the steps were taken into consideration from user research, design to prototyping. Various research methodologies were utilized and iterative wireframes were generated before the final design.
04
Learning
Creative iterative wireframes was useful as it cut down a lot of work for me in the prototyping stage. Letting the user do the talking instead of asking questions was much more insightful. It was also difficult as at times the user went off tangent and had to be guided back.
